Connor's Backpacking offers guided day hikes and one-and two-night backpacking trips. You do not need to rent gear from us to book a guided adventure. Our objective is to provide safe, fun, and educational experiences for our customers.

Short Day Hike
$50
Spend half the day on an easy hike. This outing is made for the beginner-level hikers or for those building their stamina for more challenging hikes. We will personalize your outing so your adventure is memorable, fun, safe, and educational. Your trip will be anywhere from 1 to 8 miles, you choose! You should be in fairly decent physical shape before embarking on this adventure. Dogs of all sizes are welcomed. Backpacking gear is not necessary for this day hike, but we recommend wearing hiking boots and bringing water/snacks. Check out our "Day Hiker" pack on our "Rentals" page.

Long Day Hike

Spend the day hiking the McAfee Knob trail with one of our Adventure Guides. As one of the most photographed spots on the Appalachian Trail, McAfee Knob is on the bucket list for hikers from around the world. An Adventure Guide will meet you at the McAfee Knob trailhead and lead you up the steady incline to the overlook. The out-and-back trip is 7.8 miles (~4.5 hours of hiking time). You should be in decent physical shape before embarking on this adventure. New hikers are welcomed! Physically fit dogs are also welcomed. Backpacking gear is not necessary for this day hike, but we recommend hiking gear such as boots, trekking poles, water, and snacks. Check out our "Day Hiker" pack on our "Rentals" page.

1-Night

On your one-night backpacking adventure of the Triple Crown, you'll conquer two of the most spectacular overlooks: Tinker Cliffs, which offers stunning 180-degree views of mountain ranges, and McAfee Knob, known as the most photographed spot along the AT. You will set up camp at Campbell Shelter, which is near McAfee Knob. The out-and-back trip is 19 miles (about 30 hours of hiking). You should be in good physical and mental shape before embarking on this challenging adventure. The trail is strenuous and involves lots of steep inclines, rock climbing, and blustery ridges. Dogs are welcomed, but not recommended, unless they are physically fit and agile. You will need backpacking gear in order to complete this adventure. Check out our packs on our "Rentals" page.

2-Night

Go on a 2-night backpacking trip of Virginia's Triple Crown loop! On day-one you will hike ~18 miles in order to enjoy the stunning views of Tinker Cliffs and McAfee Knob. On day-two you will embark on a challenging hike to Dragon's Tooth, a rock-scrambling climb to a picturesque jagged peak. The round-trip is 35 miles (approximately 57 hours of hiking). You must be physically and mentally fit to embark on this journey. The trip is strenuous and involves lots of rock climbing, rock scrambles, and blustery ridges. Dogs are welcomed, but not recommended. Dogs, regardless of fitness level, are not able to reach the peak of Dragon's Tooth. You will need backpacking gear in order to complete this adventure.
